Desktop app development

Native macOS apps written in Swift, from menu-bar utilities to system-wide tools.

Illustrative interface, not a client project.

What we build

We build native macOS applications in Swift. Our own open-source apps show the range: HoldTalk runs a speech model on the device for offline dictation, EchoType adds system-wide dictation through a hidden web session, and VoltGuard is a battery utility with a rule engine that idles at near-zero cost.

We take on desktop work that needs the operating system itself: menu-bar apps, global hotkeys, accessibility permissions, local processing and installers.

Typical deliverables

  • A signed macOS app and a DMG or installer script.
  • Permission flows for microphone, accessibility and notifications, with clear first-run guidance.
  • An update mechanism with integrity checks.
  • Source code in your repository and build documentation.

How we work

We build in small releases and publish a build early so you can test on real machines. We write down platform constraints, such as notarization and permission prompts, at the start so they do not surprise you at launch.

Questions before you write to us.

Short answers on how we work. Anything else, ask by email.

Can I see desktop apps you have built?

Yes. HoldTalk, EchoType and VoltGuard are our open-source macOS apps, and their repositories are public so you can read the code.

Which desktop platforms do you build for?

Our native work is on macOS in Swift, including menu-bar utilities, global hotkeys and on-device AI. Tell us your target platforms and we say plainly whether we are the right fit.

Planning desktop app development?

Tell us the goal and the constraints. We reply with questions, then a written scope and quote.
